Stoke-based artist Onyda has dropped a kaleidoscopic new tune in the form of ‘Mediocre’. They place their instantly recognisable vocal over a delicate piano-focused accompaniment, with jazzy drums, sustaining strings and trippy guitar work all complimenting thoughtful lyrics. “I grew up being heavily influenced by social media like everyone else from my generation and the pressure to present as this amazing, flawless being is unobtainable for us all,” they explain. “Let's just be a bit shit and be ok with it.” The visual that accompanies the track is simple and effective, focusing on Onyda’s face singing along and reacting to the music. -Dan Peeke
